Table for Thirty is a three-hour interactive brunch featuring black business owners, creatives and influencers. It’s an environment where individuals can flourish amongst one another through engaging conversation. Join the table and share your story, trials and tribulations while on the road to entrepreneurship!

 

MEET THE PANELIST:

Chike Ukaegbu, Chike Ukaegbu is the founder of Startup52, NYC’s premier and award winning diversity-focused accelerator with a mission to increase the representation of founders from untapped communities in tech and startup entrepreneurship. He is also the executive producer and host of ‘Tech:inCOLORS’, a new facebook live show that explores the intersection of tech, entrepreneurship, culture and inclusive diversity.

His endeavors have also been featured in Fast Company, Forbes, Ebony, BizJournal, Opportunity Lives, Entrepreneur, UrbanGeekz, etc and was interviewed by Randi Zuckerberg on her SiriusXM show, Dot Complicated!

Chike studied Venture Capital & Investments at Stanford, MBA courses at UPenn, Executive Leadership and Management at Cornell, and Biomedical Engineering at The City College of New York, where he taught Math for seven years and served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for two.

Dr. Jean Alerte, is an award-winning entrepreneur with a variety of work experience in the areas of branding, management, and consulting. Along with founding his company ACA Branding Agency celebrating its 10th year serving thousands of entrepreneurs in the US, he has produced comedy concerts and tours for acts such as Chris Tucker, Tony Rock, Charlie Murphy and Kevin Hart. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Unity in the Community Foundation of Brooklyn, New York where he has given out $34,000 to high school students to attend college based on his first book “Do Right, Do Good” & turned it into a successful entrepreneurial program entitled “FAITH GRIND INSPIRE” teaching inner city students Entrepreneurship & Leadership.

Originally from Port au Prince, Haiti, Alerte currently resides in Brooklyn with his wife and 14 month old son, with whom he opened the Brooklyn Swirl frozen yogurt shop in 2012. Dr. Alerte has been featured on National Television several times ABC 7’s “Here & Now” with Sandra Bookman, BK Live & more recently NBC’s TODAY Show with Matt Lauer,  Black Enterprise, FOX, ARISE & ESSENCE.

 

Renae Bluitt, founder of Crush Media, is a dedicated PR & lifestyle marketing specialist who understands the power of brand devotion. Throughout her career, Renae’s professionalism and expertise have attracted an impressive array of employers including Burrell Communications, Lifetime Television and most recently, Edelman PR Worldwide.

With over a decade in the industry, Renae has successfully executed PR and event programs for household brands such as ESSENCE Magazine, Pantene, Cover Girl, McDonald’s, Kraft Foods, and Coca-Cola, just to name a few.

Renae launched Crush Media in December 2007 deciding to focus on beauty. Her client portfolio includes (but is not limited to): P&G’s My Black is Beautiful, Cantu Shea Butter, Oyin Handmade, African Pride, Karen’s Beautiful, Elasta QP, Polish Bar of Brooklyn and EDEN BodyWorks.

Inspired by all of the successful women she’s met on her journey, Renae launched In Her Shoes blog in 2009. In its first two years, the blog gained an impressive following and was named “Best Business Blog of the Year” in the 2011 Black Weblog Awards. Since its launch, the blog has been featured on Centric TV, in Black Enterprise, ESSENCE, Ebony and FORBES.
